About the Company
| The Macomb Ballet Company (MBC), founded in 1983, fulfills a cultural need in our community while giving serious dance students, ages 14 - 25, the opportunity to grow artistically through performance experience on a professional stage at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in Clinton Township. Full-lengths ballets including Coppelia, The Nutcracker, The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Un Encuentro, Peter and the Wolf and Les Sylphides comprise the repertoire. Annual open auditions for qualified dancers are held in the summer and fall at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts. The MBC is a 501© (3) non-profit organization and has received grants from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs and the Art Center in Mount Clemens. The community-based company performs special daytime matinees for students, seniors and other civic organizations and evening performances for the general public. The Education & Enrichment Office of Macomb Community College sponsors the MBC’s annual week-long Summer Dance Workshop.
