A Day At The Ballet

A Day At The Ballet

A program for economically disadvantaged schools throughout our community.

Each performance season, the Macomb Ballet Company (MBC) invites local classrooms to attend the ballet free of charge in an effort to reach out to local youth who may not otherwise have the opportunity to be educated in, and enriched by, the world of the performing arts.

Our community-based company performs special daytime matinees for students, seniors and other civic organizations. Our 2017/2018 performance season offers matinees of The Nutcracker, Friday, December 1, 2017 and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Friday, May 4, 2018, at 10:00 a.m.

Interested economically disadvantaged schools are encouraged to submit an online application to our Executive Board for consideration. Qualifying classrooms must meet a minimum requirement of 60% state funded or free lunch program recipients. MBC will choose an eligible application at random during our October and February board meetings. Applications must be submitted by October 1, 2017 for consideration for both ballets, or by February 1, 2018 for consideration for the spring ballet only.

The MBC provides study guides upon request to all educators, participating in this program or not. We do hope you consider sharing the arts with your students, assisting us in fulfilling our quest to educate and enrich our youth audience. Take advantage of this wonderful program opportunity and submit your class today!
